01THE BEGINNING

A wallet ahead of its time

One place for
a new kind of money.

Built by Toronto-based blockchain company Decentral Inc., Jaxx Liberty set out to make the growing world of digital assets easier to navigate.

Founded by Anthony Di Iorio, the company created a wallet designed to bring multiple cryptocurrencies and helpful portfolio tools into one straightforward experience. Jaxx described itself as a “browser for your digital assets.”

80+

Assets, together

Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and more in one multi-coin wallet.

06

Across your devices

Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, Linux and Chrome.

01

Portfolio at a glance

Market pricing, charts and trends built into the experience.

You held the keys

“

It aimed to make blockchain technology feel less like a maze—and more like a place you could explore.

THE IDEA BEHIND JAXX LIBERTY
02HOW SECURITY WORKED

Self-custody, in plain language

Your phrase
was your key.

Jaxx Liberty did not hold users’ funds or control their private keys. Access depended on the secret 12-word recovery phrase created during wallet setup.

That phrase could restore the wallet on another compatible device. The trade-off of self-custody was absolute: lose the phrase, and access could be lost permanently. There was no central account password reset.

The recovery phrase

It is the master key to the wallet. Anyone who gets it may be able to control the assets.

Non-custodial by design

Decentral Inc. did not have a copy to retrieve or reset on a user’s behalf.

Phishing is the real threat

Imitation download and migration sites have targeted people searching for Jaxx support.

A real support agent, website or online form will never need you to share your recovery phrase.

03WHERE THINGS STAND

The end of an era

Jaxx Liberty
is no longer active.

DISCONTINUEDMAR 27
2023

Jaxx Liberty was officially discontinued on March 27, 2023.

The former jaxx.io website now redirects to Edge Wallet. Edge and Exodus were suggested as migration options for users moving on from Jaxx. These are independent products—not continuations of Jaxx Liberty.

Wallet software and official download links can change. Find a provider’s genuine website independently, verify its publisher, and never follow a link from an unsolicited message.

CRITICAL SAFETY NOTICE

Jaxx Liberty is discontinued.
Beware of anyone claiming otherwise.

Fake websites and apps may imitate Jaxx or offer to “restore” or “migrate” your wallet. Their goal may be to steal your 12-word phrase and drain your funds.

01Never type your phrase into a website, web form or chat.
02Never share it with a person claiming to be support.
03Only restore inside wallet software you independently verified.

04IF YOU STILL HAVE A JAXX WALLET

Move carefully, not quickly

A safer way
to move forward.

If you still hold assets in an old Jaxx wallet, use your backup phrase to restore into a trusted, operational wallet—taking care to keep the phrase private throughout.

This is general safety information, not investment advice. If anything feels rushed, unexpected or asks you to disclose your phrase, stop.

01

Find the wallet provider yourself

Type the provider’s address directly. Check the domain carefully and verify the app publisher before installing.

02

Confirm the restore method

Read the wallet provider’s official instructions. Ensure it supports the assets and recovery phrase format you need.

03

Restore only in verified software

Enter your recovery phrase only in the trusted wallet app you installed—not on a website or in a support conversation.

04

Keep your phrase private afterwards

Never photograph, email, message or store your phrase in an online document or cloud account.

When in doubt, do nothing yet.

It is safer to pause and verify than to risk exposing your recovery phrase.
